So I hate to admit it but I think I have fallen of the wagon again with my eating, or should I say hanging by a thread. My stomach feels so bloated and yuck from all the crap I have been eating. See from January till about this summer I had lost about 50lbs. Then the stress from work and going back to college, I have been not so good, when ever I get my hands on junk " aka" not whole foods I over do it. It's funny how just a little bit can make your stomach turn.
I truly believe and have felt the difference in eating whole foods or foods that are connected with the least amount of process to them.
It' so much work being healthy. I've stopped using the elipitcal, I do enjoy my NIA, yoga, and african dance classes I try to get in three times a week , but between the kids and I it just has not happened.
Okay enough of the whining I know what feels good, I know what I need to do, so I need to just do it.
Heather over at this blog has some wonderful ideas about eating, freezing quick foods, and she offers workshops, which I hope to take her next one which is all about whole foods and here is the link for that.
So my goal for tomorrow, is to get 20 min on the elipitcal, make a green smoothy to sip on in the morning , some salad with an hardboiled egg, and a whole local chicken into the crockpot.
Please keep me in your thoughts and root me on, I so struggle with food espically this time of year

Words I Try To Live By!!
I try to remind myself of this phrase often. Right now I am on a bit of overload and I am trying to remind myself to take a deep breath, slow down, and live in the moment. But there is so much to do, or that is not getting done, how do I retrain my brain?
That is the big challenge right now. It has been such a whirl wind that I have forgotten things that have happen only days and weeks ago. So from now on out I am going to try to be more mindful and here on this blog it will serve as a check in for that mindfulness.

Blueberry Muffins and a reminder to self not to try to make two things at once even though I am pretty good at multi tasking!!
So last night I went grocery shopping kid free mind you, and I started shopping again at our local coop. I think I will hit Hannafords when I need certain non-coop things but main local just tastes so much better and for me I seem to spend less$123 this week!! (I think). So today we are full of local yummyness. This morning I made blueberry muffins with organic blueberries we picked on Friday, local King Arthur flour, Monument milk, and local eggs too. Into the crockpot went a local whole chicken with onion and garlic stuffed into the cavity and it ( the chicken ) had a rub down with spices, Hmm the house smells good. We also have root veggies and summer veggies that are going toget a roasting too.
So for some reason I have not figured out the taking pictures of food thing so it comes out looking blog perfect?? Is there a trick or is it the camera? Help please?? So no Picture but..... But this recipe is so worth sharing.
Hope you all are enjoying local seasoned goodness!

This Moment
{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.
Again, can't seem to follow rules.... Have to add a few words LOL! So this week I have had some mommy free moments,I'm trying to make good choices with my time and realizing I need some just me time. So I took my dog hiking "yes I was afraid to go by myself but I took the plunge. We had a great time and it was so good to be outside and sharing a roast beef sandwich with my four legged friend!! I guess I need to add another pic

Yarn Along
So there is nothing on my knitting needles right now, I would love some suggestions on a simple project.
However I have been enjoying these books. I think my favorite would have to be " Little House on the Prairie"
If you have any suggestions on simple knit project that is not a washcloth please share!!

So I know there isn't suppose to be any words " It's hard to follow the rules" I just had to explain this moment. It was a mindful moment for me, I really made the effort to make a special one on one moment with my daughter, yes I need to do it with my son and I need to do it soon since he leaves for an two week summer camp thing, but anyways it was so much fun, we got our toes done, special treat from Starbucks and actually sat and talked that was the best part just sitting.... Have you done that lately? Oh it is so hard!!

Okay so here I find myself at the first day of summer vacation
Wow what a whirl wind!! Sorry for the absence, but this past last winter and spring I have been consumed by the project of licensing my daycare and such. But I am back!!
So today was our first day of summer vacation, in general I am trying to be more of a mindful mom and trying to have our days filled with more meaning full stuff verses getting wrapped up in our crazy over stimulated world. With the business of work I have had to let go of some of my hopes of to do's for the season and comprise a bit. We did get a small raised bed planted so I feel good we are growing something. This year we are not CSA Shares, but I am hoping to find one for the winter that will deliver since it is to hard to go after work.
So with today being first day of summer vacation I took some of the day off and we signed up for the summer reading program through the library and had some fun at the park. Gotta love free things to do around town.
